Privacy Policy
OneLink Remote ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in the OneLink Remote mobile application (the "App").
1. Data Safety & Processing Policy
OneLink Remote is engineered as a local-first utility. All remote control inputs (keyboard, trackpad, gestures) are processed entirely on-device over a direct Bluetooth HID connection and are never transmitted to any cloud service. We collect only minimal, anonymous device identifiers for specific functional purposes described below.
-
No Personal Information Collected We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, physical location data, or any other personally identifiable information. The data we collect (described below) is fully anonymous and cannot be used to identify any specific user from our server side.
-
What We Collect (Our Firestore Database) To manage the 7-day free trial and to maintain a device compatibility registry (blocking known-incompatible HID hardware), we store the following in our own Google Firestore database: a non-reversible SHA-256 hash of your device's ANDROID_ID, your device model name, and manufacturer name. This data is fully anonymous — the hashed ID cannot be reversed to identify you, and we have no way to link it to any individual person. No raw hardware IDs are ever stored.
-
No Input Data Leaves Your Device Keyboard keystrokes, trackpad inputs, and connection logs reside in volatile memory on your device and are transmitted only over the direct Bluetooth HID link to your paired device. They are never sent to any cloud server.
-
Advertising (Google AdMob — Independent Pipeline) The App displays advertisements to free-tier users via Google AdMob. AdMob independently collects and processes its own data (such as the Google Advertising ID) for ad delivery, personalization, and frequency capping through its own SDK pipeline. We do not share any of our collected data with AdMob. AdMob's data processing is governed entirely by Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings (Settings > Google > Ads).
-
Data Deletion (Device Vault) Connection history, paired device records, and custom settings are stored locally in a secure, sandboxed database ("Device Vault") on your device. You can permanently erase all local records at any time using the Delete button in the Device Vault screen within the App. You may also use the standard "Clear Data" option in Android system settings, or simply uninstall the App. Server-side data in our Firestore database is anonymous and not linked to any identifiable user.
2. Android OS Permissions & Purpose
To establish pairing and function as a standard Bluetooth Human Interface Device (HID) remote control, the App requests specific system permissions. Each permission has a strictly defined functional role:
All data sent over Bluetooth conforms to standardized HID reports (simple keyboard codes, scroll counts, and coordinates). These events are processed on-the-fly and are never logged or stored anywhere.
3. Third-Party Disclosures & Network Safety
OneLink Remote integrates two Google services, each operating independently:
-
Google Firebase (Firestore) — Our Database We store a non-reversible SHA-256 hash of the device's ANDROID_ID, device model, and manufacturer in our own Firestore database for trial validation and hardware compatibility tracking. This data is fully anonymous and cannot identify any individual user.
-
Google AdMob — Independent Ad Pipeline AdMob serves advertisements to free-tier users and independently collects its own data (such as the Google Advertising ID and ad interaction statistics) through its own SDK. We do not share any of our collected data with AdMob. AdMob's data processing is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
No other third-party services, analytics platforms, or tracking scripts are integrated into the App.
4. Age Compliance & Children's Privacy
The app is not directed toward children under 13 (or 16 within the European Union) and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
5. Modifications to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to align with app updates or OS security requirements. Since we maintain no user email lists, we cannot notify users directly. The current active policy will always be accessible within the App settings.
6. Data Protection Inquiries
If you have any questions regarding this Privacy Policy, your rights under applicable privacy regulations, or the application's local security protocols, please contact us directly.
